JURASSIC WORLD ROARS IN CHINA

Jurassic World has so far raked in $1.388 billion worldwide careening it among the top 5 grossing movies of all time alongside names like Avataar and Titanic. In China alone it has crossed the $200 million mark making it the highest-grossing market country-wise outside the United States. The monster hit grossed nearly $38 million in the week June 22 - 28 and took its cumulative collection figures to $202 million after 19 days of screening there.
But figures for the July opening week showed a drop of 60% thanks to a local release titled "Monk Comes Down The Mountain" that opened to a very strong $37.5 million collection during the same period. But despite such hiccups JW's Chinese collection managed to reach a mind-boggling $225 million as per latest estimates.
Such figures are not surprising when one considers the fact that the 3D re-release of the original raked in $56 million in 2013 surpassing the US collections for the same by $11 million . To build
up pre-release interest in Jurassic World, makers Universal Studios flew over Director Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to China in May for a press tour.
